Teach your game plan: the playbook as learning cards with a knowledge test

Upload your playbook as PDF or PowerPoint, the app turns it into learning cards. Players learn and test in their app. You see which chapter the team does not know yet.

A playbook with a signature line

A coach showed me his playbook. 90 pages: team standards, principles, more than thirty plays with diagrams. On page 1 a line for the player's signature. Whether the players know the content, the signature does not tell. The coach finds out when the forecheck falls apart in a game.

Game understanding used to be the pillar you could not measure. With the Playbook module it sits in the comparison next to sprint and concentration test.

The PDF becomes learning cards

You upload your existing playbook, as PDF or PowerPoint. The app splits it into pages and recognises titles, sequence steps, roles and the diagram. In the preview you deselect what is not needed and assign chapters. After that every page can be edited: text, steps, roles, image.

No playbook of your own? Four neutral templates (team standards, match-day nutrition, weight-room vocabulary, player roles on the line rush) are a start. The PowerPoint template shows how slides must look for the import to recognise steps and roles. A drill from your drill library becomes a learning card with one tap, and the other way round.

Questions you approve

From steps and roles the app suggests ready-made questions: order of steps, matching role to task, true or false, gap text, single and multiple choice. Every question arrives as a draft. You read it, change it, approve it. Nothing reaches the players unchecked.

If the club admin has enabled the AI functions, the AI suggests further questions for a page, including image-only slides. Only the page texts go to the AI provider, no player data. Even then, approval is yours alone.

The knowledge test in the player app

A test consists of chapters you choose. The app draws different questions for each player, or you set a fixed list. Plus age groups, attempts, deadline, feedback immediately or at the end. Approving sends the notification to the players, 24 hours before the deadline the app reminds them once more.

The player learns in the "Learn" tab of their app: learning cards per chapter, then the test. After each question they see what was correct, with an explanation and a link to the page. From the pass threshold (default 80 percent) the test is passed, the best attempt counts. They see their result and the team average, no names.

What the team has not understood

The evaluation lists every player with best result, attempts, duration and reading progress. Below that the chapters as a heatmap and the questions answered wrong most often, with the most common wrong answer. So you see not only that the defensive zone sits at 45 percent, but which step of the breakout under pressure gets mixed up.

A red chapter becomes a practice session with "Plan session", play by play with image, steps and roles in the phases. The playbook score, the average of the season's best results, appears in the player profile, in the radar and under "Compare". On the schedule card you see how many players have already taken the test.

Frequently asked questions

PDF and PowerPoint (.pptx). The app recognises titles, sequence steps, roles and diagrams; cover and table of contents are skipped. A playbook can also be exported as JSON and imported again in another club.

From the pages themselves: steps become ordering questions, roles become matching questions, lists become multiple choice. On request the AI suggests further questions. Every question is a draft until you approve it.

Only approved pages of their age group, their own results with explanations and the team average. No names or results of other players.

Parents see per child only whether a test is done or open. No percentages.

Yes. The rule-based suggestions and creating questions by hand need no AI. AI questions are an option the club admin enables; then only page texts go to the provider, details in the privacy policy (German).
